Tony Donatelle is a talented trumpet player and composer who began his musical journey at the age of 7. His performing experience spans solo, ensemble, and orchestral music across jazz, classical, and contemporary genres. In addition to being featured on several releases, Donatelle has released an EP and four singles of his own. He has performed on world-renowned stages, including Carnegie Hall, and is a proud graduate of Berklee College of Music.
TONY DONATELLE SENIOR RECITAL

Tony Donatelle’s senior recital at Berklee College of Music was a remarkable celebration of his growth as a musician and composer. For this special event, Tony led a jazz quintet that performed a captivating set of jazz standards, showcasing his impressive trumpet skills and deep understanding of jazz language. The ensemble featured a lineup of distinguished musicians, including renowned composer and pianist Grigori Balasanyan, whose rich harmonic language added a sophisticated layer to the performance. Joining them was guest drummer Harutyun Harutyunyan from Armenia, whose rhythmic precision and dynamic style anchored the group’s groove. Saxophonist Kiril Pudavoff brought a powerful melodic presence, weaving seamlessly through the intricate harmonies of the standards, while bassist Chase Bahar provided a solid and creative foundation, driving the rhythm section with finesse. The collaboration between these talented musicians created a vibrant and cohesive performance that left a lasting impression on the audience. Tony’s senior recital was not only a testament to his technical mastery but also to his ability to bring together a diverse group of world-class musicians to create something truly special .

The Armenian Prelacy is excited to announce the 2024 Musical Armenia Concert, the thirty- ninth event in the much-loved series that began in 1982. The concert will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Grigori Balasanyan and Tony Donatelle had entered the stage to play his composition on the piano with trumpeter Tony Donatelle. “Farewell Yerevan” is an emotional remembrance of the beloved city he left behind. “The composition draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Armenian folklore, ancient melodies, with their timeless beauty, as a poignant thread connecting the past with the present, resonating with the sound of Yerevan, and it is my honor to have the talented Tony Donatelle, who is also from Yerevan to premiere this composition in Carnegie Hall” the composer said.
